Ana Messias (Portugal)

Ana Messias received her degree in Dentistry in 2008 from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra, Portugal, and completed a postgraduate programme in Prosthodontics in 2011 at the same university. She completed her PhD in 2019, specializing in biomechanics of dental implants and prostheses (Faculty of Medicine, University of Coimbra).

Currently, Ana Messias is Assistant Professor of Removable Prosthodontics at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra and teaches at the Doctoral Programme in Health Sciences of the same institution. Ana Messias has authored several international peer-reviewed articles and, as investigator at the Centre for Mechanical Engineering, Materials and Processes as well as at the Bioinformatics and Medical Statistics Laboratory of the University of Coimbra is active in the research field of numerical and experimental biomechanics of dental implants and prostheses, clinical studies and evidence synthesis.
